What is the FragFX?

The FragFX is a combination mouse/chuck controller made by SplitFish Gameware for the Playstation 3 video game console. For more details please see our full review of the FragFX.

What are the differences between the original FragFX and v.2?

The differences are minor. Both have similar styling and build quality. The most noteable differences being the higher sensitivity and rapid fire feature that v.2 provides. The chuck cradle was also removed from the mouse pad in v.2.

What is the mouse used for?

The mouse is used during game play to shoot and operate weaponary, look left, right, up and down. It can also operate as a regular mouse during menu selections.

What is the chuck used for?

The left chuck controllers main use is for character/object movement using the analog stick just like the one on the default Playstation 3 controller. The chuck also contains the speed dial, directional pad, trigger buttons and frag button.

What is the frag button?

When the frag button is pressed it lowers the mouse sensitivity for smoother sniper shots.

What is the speed dial?

The speed dial allows you to lower or raise the sensitivity while gaming.

Does the FragFX have motion control?

Yes, the left chuck controller of the FragFX includes six axis motion control for games that support this feature.

What games can it be used with?

The FragFX can be setup to work with virtually any PS3 or PS2 games that can be played on the Playstation 3 console, but is best suited for first or third person shooters.

Does the FragFX work with a PC?

No, the FragFX is only compatible with the Playstation 3 gaming console.

Can the button functions be changed?

Yes, the FragFX is fully customizable.

Is the FragFX firmware upgradeable?

Yes, the firmware can be upgraded. It is recommended to upgrade to the newest firmware for your particular version upon arrival of the FragFX. There are seperate firmware upgrades for each version. Be sure to get the correct fimware.

Can different mouse pads be used with the FragFX?

Yes, any mouse pad made for optical mice can be used with the FragFX.

How long is the cord?

10 feet.

Can the PS3 be powered on by the FragFX?

No. Unlike the Dualshock 3 controller, the FragFX is powered by the PS3 console so this feature is not possible.

Are there any similar FragFX controllers for the PS2?

Yes. SplitFish also produces the Edgefx, a mouse based controller for the Playstation 2.
